The hottest item this summer is coloured jeans! In an array of candy colours, Second Yoga Jeans are high waisted and so stretchy you can definitely do a downward dog in them! I snapped up a pair last week and drove 6 hours to Burlington in them and they were amazingly comfortable! Pair the skinny leg with bright tunic tops and the straight leg with shorter pieces.

Temperatures are soaring and nothing looks more elegant or cool than a toe-skimming maxi dress! This is my favourite dress length as it actually elongates your silhouette instead of shrinking it. This seasons patterns are hot, so go for something daring in colour from stripes to animal print the possibilities are many. The latest and greatest addition to the Shepherd’s family is our new flagship store at the Ottawa Train Yards! This new and modern concept boutique is 5000 square feet and features a catwalk down the centre, nine fitting rooms designed by Ottawa interior designers and beautiful themed vignettes that showcase the different collections.

If that wasn’t fabulous enough, Shepherd’s has introduced footwear and home décor to the mix. I stopped by the pre-opening gathering to sneak a peak, grab a bite of Epicuria goodies and hobnob with clients. Feast your eyes on these pictures:

Prints

This has to be the biggest trend this season. Worn head-to-toe or using multiple prints in the same outfit. Worried about clashing prints? Just make sure the colours stay within the same family.

 Pastel colours

This season spring colours are on both ends of the spectrum, pastel and bright neons. Sunglass-worthy brights and soft sherbet mints, limes, peaches, blueberries and strawberries will have you craving a second serving!

Say hello to the “little bright dress” the new go-to dress for your wardrobe! Play it up and change the look with metallic accessories or try a statement colour shoe or purse in a complementary candy colour. Bye bye black!

Wall-flowers beware; this trend is bold and brave. Blocking colour is all about not matching, but keeping the colours in the same tone. Not for you? Try this look in a dress that colour-blocks in the right place to flatter your shape.  

I stumbled upon this amazing app for iphone and android devices that organizes your closet on your phone, so you can take it anywhere! Imagine you could take your whole wardrobe with you everyday and match and compare what you have with what you want. No more buying the same thing or not knowing what you will wear with what. It’s all there!

 You can even make outfits and store them in a calendar, so you know what to wear at that event or make a packing list so you don’t forget a thing!
